Renewable Energy Sector consists of following Sub-sectors:-

  • Wind Energy Sub-sector,

  • Solar Energy Sub-sector,

  • Geothermal Energy Sub-sector , 

  • Biomass Energy Sub-sector.

Upstream Petroleum Sub-sector:

Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE)

Introduction

Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE) is the 100% State Owned Enterprise and is responsible for Upstream Petroleum Sub-sector. 

It has four basic responsibilities :

  1. To explore oil and gas by conducting geological and geophysical surveys and exploit oil and gas by its own resources

  2. To supply the required natural gas to various factories and gas turbines by construction of its gas supply pipelines network;

  3. To supply Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a substitute fuel of gasoline for transportation vehicles

  4. To cooperate with foreign oil companies by signing the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for Onland and offshore blocks for early monetization of Petroleum resources of Myanmar;

Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise (MPE)

Downstream Petroleum Subsector

Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise (MPE) is a 100% State Owned Economic Enterprise and is responsible for Downstream Petroleum Sub-sector. It operates Refineries, Fertilizer Plants, Methanol Plant, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Plant, Bitumen and Carbon Dioxide Plants and other Processing Plants and produce Petroleum and Petrochemical Products such as Urea Fertilizer, Liquefied Petroleum Gas ("LPG"), Bitumen, Carbon Dioxide in both gaseous and liquid forms, Methanol and Lubricants and transportation of these products.

Myanma Petroleum Products Enterprise (MPPE)

Myanma Petroleum Products Enterprise(MPPE) is the State-owned Organization vested with authority and responsibility to carry out retail and whole sale distribution of Petroleum products in Myanmar. The Enterprise has conducted the effective and intensive distribution of Petroleum Products, dedicated to Agriculture, Fishery, Transport, Power Generation, Defense, Construction and Industries in the Government Sector and also to the Private Sector from the existing 4 Main Fuel Terminals, 25 Sub Fuel Terminals, 10 Aviation (Terminals/ Sub Terminals/ Filling Stations), 271 Fuel Filling Stations and 1 LPG Filling Station.
